News Radio

Your unread stories, as a radio show

Press play on a station and Paperwire reads it like a newsreader: an opening, each story introduced by name, and a closing. Stories you finish are marked read.

On air

Tap the Daily Mix. Every word of the bulletin shows up here as it's read: the opening, each story by name, and a new section when the language changes.

Silent on this page. On your iPhone it's read aloud, on the device.

A Daily Mix, Headlines in minutes, and a station for every topic, language and source.

The reader

Set like a book, read along word by word

Every article becomes a clean page in your type, size and spacing, scrolling or in pages. Publisher scripts never run, and summary-only feeds get the full article from the publisher's page, like Reader view.

Getting started

No account. Just pick what to read.

Choose a starter pack, tap the sources you like, or paste any website and Paperwire finds its feed. It checks them for new stories right from your iPhone. Already run FreshRSS? Connect it and everything syncs.

Tap a pack or a few sources, then Start reading. 92 well-known sources in five languages, or any site by its address.

Languages

Each language in its own voice

Paperwire speaks only the languages you turn on. Stations play one language at a time and introduce each new section in its own language, so the voice changes only where it should.

  1. ENFirst, from The Margin: Why the best pages feel quiet.
  2. DEJetzt auf Deutsch. Zuerst, von Nachtschicht: Die Stadt, die nachts arbeitet.
  3. ESAhora, en español. Primero, de La Brújula: El mercado que nunca duerme.
  4. SKTeraz po slovensky. Najprv Horizont: Ako sa rodí ranná správa.

It all stays on your iPhone

No tracking and no cloud in the middle. Paperwire never sends your articles anywhere.

  • Offline first

Articles live on your phone. Reading, starring and listening work without a connection.

  • Voices on the device

Narration runs on your iPhone, with Ivy or Apple's voices.

  • Your keys stay yours

A FreshRSS password is kept in the iOS Keychain, nowhere else.

  • Source you can read

Every line is on GitHub under the Functional Source License.
